AUSSIE BURGER WITH THE LOT
This familiar Aussie classic is loaded with nostalgia thanks to the combination of a few essential ingredients known to many as ‘the lot’.

4 sesame seed burger buns
1kg beef mince, 20% fat
8 slices burger cheese
4 eggs
1 small tin beetroot
1 small tin pineapple rings
Iceberg lettuce
4 Tbsp caramelised onion jam (or regular caramelised onions)
BBQ or tomato sauce, your choice

Method
Step 1. Place the mince in a bowl and season liberally with salt and pepper. Use your hands to shape 8 even patties, being careful not to work the mince too hard when forming the patties. Set aside on a tray lined with baking paper.
Step 2. In batches, add the patties to a hot, heavy based pan with a little oil and cook on one side until deeply caramelised (around 4 minutes). Flip them over and place a slice of cheese on top. Add a dash of water to the pan and place a lid on top to allow the cheese to melt. Cook for a further 2-3 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside on paper towel to drain.
Step 3. Fry the eggs sunny side up while the patties are resting.
Step 4. To assemble, load up the buns with 2 patties, 1 egg and the other ingredients to your liking.
